scribe necro mages are cool but remember that you will have no chance in
pvp
all some one has to do is parra gank you or cast mana vampire on you
and being curesed for something like -20 is no good ither

Man... I wonder why I'm focusing my energy on playing a mage...
A set of armor with 70 across the board will bring a 100 mage 120 eval
ebolt down to 15.9 dmg.
Even with 24% total spell dmg increase items (the best you can get with
non-artifact magic jewelry), you'll only get 19.7 dmg from an ebolt.

Since when did inscription have a damned thing to do with resultant damage
from magery spells?

Since AoS.
For those of you looking to make room for inscription on your mage, a
slightly "outside the box" approach would be to drop wrestling (or whatever
you are using for evade) and pick up a mage weapon with the spell
channelling property, then negate the mage weapon penalty with skill
jewelry. This is highly dependant on finding the right items, but with the
right stuff you can operate as though you are GM (or slighly better,
depending on your magery) in a weapon skill, with no points invested.
For a necro/mage/scribe, taking the mage weapon approach has the added
benefit of allowing you to get some small use out of the curse weapon
spell.

After reading this, it seems that Inscription adds new bonuses.
Anyone want to spell these out so I can update the inscription guide?
Hasta.
Most people aren't stupid. They are just uninformed idiots.

120 Magery
120 Eval
100 inscription
60 focus (Or 60-40 Parry if you're one of those anti-focus players)
(Or 80 healing /w 100 resist, if you love healer mages)
100 med
100 anat
120 resist
Killing Machine. total death.
Ability to actively med, 2nd highest passive med rate
Stamina regen (anti-strangle)
120 "dodge"
Tons of Damage (120 eval + 100 inscription)
Less negative buffs for wearing prot + magic reflect + RA
Not reliant on items

gm anatomy gives 120 dodge? I thought that only worked for unarmed combat (
mage vs mage)
My mage is to be as follows:
120 magery
120 meditation
120 eval
120 wrestle
120 parry
100 inscribe
Who can stop me?

Wrestle > Anat, especially if it is already trained.
And there are no scribe powerscrolls.

Mr Sparkle....
From memory the formula for "dodge" is
((eval+anat)/2)+10
so any eval and anat combo that adds to 220 will give max "dodge"
But yeah I believe that 120 wrestle is still better.
Forever pushing the envelope..

I have a mage that looks like:
120 magery
120 eval
120 med
120 wrestle
95 resist
85 focus
20.1 tracking
some filler in hiding
Since aos I've been letting focus gain passively as I dropped the anat I
had for stun. Anyone think inscription would be a better choice than
focus?

i was thinking about it i think this would own:
120 magery
120 eval
120 resist
120 wrestle
100 inscribe
100 med
40 focus
100/25/100
this template would be for 4+ year vet.
if im correct u should get the same passive/active med as 120 med/120 int
and should own
